We work together with our community partner agencies, Kamloops Fire Rescue, Interior Health, and the RCMP to take extra measures during extreme weather to provide services and supports for unhoused individuals.

The City’s new book recycling program has been such a success since it launched in November, that two more locations have been added. There are now four locations around the city for residents to recycle their old paperbacks, hardcover books, and textbooks.

Monetary and non-perishable food donations were collected at the annual Stuff the Bus event in support of the Kamloops Food Bank.

Smiles were abound at the November 4 Pumpkin Smash as City staff helped kids smash, bash, roll, and stomp their Hallowe'en pumpkins at the various activity stations. The City composted a total of 2,830 kg of pumpkins from the event.

Over 8,500 volunteer hours were contributed to Emergency Support Services in 2023.

In 2022, City of Kamloops employees ran the largest fundraising campaign for the United Way within city limits. At the United Way BC Day Kick-Off Breakfast this Tuesday, City employees were honored with an award for this achievement.
