How To Prepare To Apply:

Required Documentation for all Applications:

  • Title Search - dated within the last 3 months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca)
  • Letter with Additional Questions - if necessary
  • Owner Authorization - required if additional questions beyond confirming the zone are specified

Note: Additional documentation may be required, depending on the scope of work to be done.

What is a Zoning Information Request?

A zoning information request is an official inquiry submitted to Planning to obtain information about a property's zoning classification, allowable land uses, and any potential bylaw violations.

Explore the CityMap App to determine the current zoning for any property in Kamloops. Note: The Zoning layer is not shown by default and must be toggled on to be seen. To do this select the Layers icon , expand the Planning and Development group, and toggle on the Zoning layer. Additional detailed information on properties can be found on the Property Information Portal.

Before You Start

You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one here

Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until you submit and pay for it. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.

Application fee payments must be made by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% service fee will apply

Public open houses are recommended for land use bylaw amendments such as rezoning applications for commercial, industrial, or multiple-family developments (eight units or greater) located within 100 m of land zoned for residential use.
