How to Prepare to Apply:
Required Documentation for All Applications:
- Title Search - dated within the last three months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca )
- Agency Agreement - if you’re applying on behalf of the property owner
- Owner's Acknowledgement
- Truss Layout from the manufacturer
- Site Plan - with setbacks
- BC Company Summary - if the property is owned in a company name
- Building Code Summary
- Energy Step Code Pre-Construction Compliance Checklist and HOT 2000 report (new builds only)
- Sealed Design Drawings - with Schedule B and insurance from any engineers involved with the project
- Design Drawings, including:
- Foundation layout
- Floor plans
- Cross sections
- Elevations
- Braced wall band design and details
Additional Documents:
- Additional structural or geotechnical oversight may be required depending on proposed construction components and location of construction.
Note: Additional documentation may be required, depending on the scope of work to be done.

Before You Start
Review the Multi-Family, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional Building Permit Application Checklist prior to submitting your application.
You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one here.
Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until it has been submitted and paid for. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.
Application fees must be paid by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% credit card convenience fee will apply.
