Creating Safe Places

The social issues in our community are complex and affected by many factors. The City continues to work with and advocate to the provincial and federal government for their commitment and support in the areas that fall under their jurisdiction. This includes social and affordable housing, primary care, and support services for mental health and substance use issues.

Collaboration and partnership are essential to building a safe and secure community. It is not enough to rely only on the RCMP and the City's Community Services. Instead, safe communities must involve participation from local organizations and individuals. The City is committed to working with partners across all sectors and levels of government. Collective effort will help to realize the Official Community Plan vision of Kamloops. This vision of Kamloops is a sustainable, healthy, resilient, inclusive, and vibrant community.
