The brand-new pump track at the Kamloops Bike Ranch has officially opened for wheeled enthusiasts.
Led by the Kamloops Sports Council, in partnership with the Kamloops Performance Cycling Centre, Tourism Kamloops, and the City of Kamloops, the $1.3 million all-wheels pump track facility is located at the 26 ha Kamloops Bike Ranch in Juniper Ridge and was funded by the Province of BC's Destination Development Fund.
The new facility includes beginner-, intermediate-, and advanced-level tracks for users with all different types of wheels and skills. The tracks are open to skateboards, scooters, suitable wheelchairs, adaptive mountain bikes, BMX bikes, rollerblades, run bikes, mountain bikes, and anything else that is human-powered and has wheels! Established in 2005, "The Ranch" is an iconic part of Kamloops' mountain bike scene. It offers a diverse set of trails for beginner through to pro-level riders, stadium lights, a jump park, and a skills area at the top of the park. It has evolved into a premier sporting venue and is Canada’s largest municipal bike park.
The Kamloops Bike Ranch is open from one hour after sunrise to one hour before sunset throughout the spring, summer, and fall, except for the Jump Corral, which is also open after sunset when the lights are on. The facility is closed during the winter and is not maintained.
