How to Prepare to Apply:

Required Documentation for All Applications:

  • Title Search - dated within the last three months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca)
  • Charges on Title - non-financial charges, legal notations, covenants, statutory right-of-way, etc.
  • Company Search - if the property is owned in a company name
  • Agency Agreement - if you’re applying on behalf of the property owner
  • Site Plan
  • BC Building Code Letters of Assurance - Schedule B when using registered professionals
  • Mechanical Systems Plans and/or Fire Suppression Systems Plans
  • Site Disclosure Statement - identifying and disclosing sites that may be contaminated (can be accessed through the BC Provincial website)
  • Structural Plans - if loading and hole created from installation of new roof top unit

Note: Additional documentation may be required, depending on the scope of work to be done.

Before You Start

Review the Commercial Ventilation Building Permit Application Checklist before submitting your application.

You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one here.

Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until it has been submitted and paid for. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.

Application fees must be paid by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% credit card convenience fee will apply.
