• How many guests are included in a party booking?

  This varies by the type of booking. Swim-only parties include 10 guaranteed admissions. A full pool party experience includes 16 guaranteed admissions. 

• Can we bring more guests than the included amount?

  Yes. If your guest list exceeds the facility's swim party booking limit, you must book an additional swim party.

• Can we arrive early to set up?

  Yes. You may arrive up to 30 minutes before your scheduled party start time to set up. Pool access begins at the scheduled party start time.

• What is the minimum age to book a swim party at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre??

  The minimum age for a swim party at this facility is three years old. 
  
  Children under seven years of age must have an adult (16 years or older) in the water actively supervising and within arm’s reach. The maximum supervision ratio is three children under seven years of age to one adult.

• What is the maximum number of swimmers allowed in a full pool party experience?

  Our full pool party experience (private party) is limited to 25 swimmers.

• What is the minimum age to book a swim party at Westsyde Pool?

  The minimum age for a swim party at Westsyde Pool is seven years old.

• Is there space to open presents or serve cake after a swim-only party?

  Unfortunately, Westsyde Pool is unable to accommodate presents/cake for swim-only parties. A full pool party experience would need to be booked to accommodate these additional activities. A picnic bench is available on a first-come, first-served basis outside the facility for swim-only parties.

  Swim-only parties include 10 guaranteed admissions.

• Can we bring more than 10 guests to a swim-only party?

  Additional admissions may be purchased upon arrival if facility capacity allows. Only 10 spaces are guaranteed. Additional admissions are first-come, first-served, and cannot be reserved.

General Information

• Do parents or caregivers count toward the maximum guaranteed admissions?

  Yes. Anyone entering the water counts toward the maximum guaranteed admissions.
  
   

• Can we bring decorations?

  Minimal decorations are permitted within the designated party area when a full pool party experience is selected. All decorations must be removed at the end of the booking. Setup and takedown time is limited.

• Can we bring food and beverages?

  Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted in the designated party area for full pool party bookings only. Glass containers are not permitted. Refrigerators, freezers, and electrical plug-ins are not available.

• Are lifejackets available?

  Yes. Various lifejacket sizes are available for use.

• Why are some party times unavailable?

  Some afternoon and evening time slots may be unavailable due to staff training, special events, or statutory holidays.
   

• Are children under seven years of age invited to swim at a pool party?

  Yes. Children under seven years of age must have an adult (16 years or older) in the water actively supervising and within arm’s reach.

• Why do the pool party experiences have different minimum ages?

  Our facilities are staffed differently based on their size, schedules, and average attendance. Establishing a minimum age for pool parties ensure that each of our facilities can have the appropriate supervision in place and meet our team service expectations. 

• What items are provided upon arrival for our pool party with tables?

  The following items are provided for your party at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre:

  • 2 tables and 16 chairs (based on party size)

  • tablecloths (colour provided at random)

  • wristbands for participants entering the water 

  The following items are provided for your party at Westsyde Pool:

  • 2 tables and 25 chairs (based on party size)
  • tablecloths (colour provided at random)
• Do I need to have a recreation account to book a party?

  Yes. An online recreation account is required to access the facilities and complete a booking. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one online.
