- Post-secondary certificates, diplomas or degrees

- Current driver's abstract
Note: Applicants for lifeguard and firefighter positions must submit copies of all required certifications listed in the competition in order to be considered.

Our application consists of several steps and you will not need to submit a completed police records check form or references with your initial application. It is important to note that offers of employment will only be made after employment references and police records check are complete. We will ask your permission prior to initiating either of these steps in the recruitment process.
We post management and unionized positions. We also post a variety of other position types, including: seasonal, temporary, part-time, on-call, or full-time work. The posting will clearly state the type of position.
Job postings are updated as vacant positions become available.
We do accept applications after the competition has closed; however, your application will be marked late and will not be considered until all other applicants have been reviewed first.
If you have been short-listed for an interview, we will contact you. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we do not send acknowledgement letters to all job applicants.
We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. We endeavour to contact applicants to be interviewed within three (3) weeks of the competition closing date. We appreciate your patience throughout the recruitment process and ask that you refrain from calling our office unless we ask you to.
We conduct panel interview which include the departmental supervisor, a human resources representative, and sometimes other participants. We ask a variety of knowledge, situational, and behavioural-based interview questions. Interviews are typically 30 minutes to one hour in length, depending on the complexity of the position.
You will be informed, in advance, of any testing that we might ask you to participate in.
For specific positions, such as lifeguard or firefighter, we may do skill or job-related testing. We may also do computer software testing or psychological testing.
It can take up to six (6) weeks to fill a job posting, depending on the complexity of the position. We thank you, in advance, for your patience!
