The City offers alternatives to paying for parking at a pay station kiosk for on-street and City-owned surface lot parking.
There are no additional fees for using FlowBird or PayByParking app. The rate is the same as at the kiosks, and both applications are free to download.
The City recommends drivers pay for parking as soon as possible to avoid receiving tickets. Parking payment hours, rates, and timelines for on-street and surface lot parking have not changed and are available at Kamloops.ca/Parking.
Flowbird
Parking app for on-street and surface lot parking
Flowbird is an intuitive, easy-to-use mobile parking application that allows you to pay for your parking sessions remotely using your mobile, tablet, or desktop computer.
Flowbird uses GPS locations to automatically identify your location. Simply select the parking location nearest to your vehicle. The system will indicate a green pin for lot parking or a pink pin for on-street parking. Once the location has been selected, select the duration and confirm payment.
PayByPhone
Pilot project parking app for City-owned surface parking lots in the downtown core.
A pilot project to expand remote payment options for daily and hourly parking at City‑owned surface lots launched on June 1, 2022, with the introduction of the PayByPhone app.
The free PayByPhone app allows drivers to pay for parking at City-owned surface lots with their credit card using a mobile app, a computer, or a phone instead of using a pay station. This app is integrated with the City’s parking system to provide real-time information patrolling Community Services Officers’ handheld units.
