Riverside Park Watch Parties: Five Weeks of Community, Celebration and Connection

This summer, Riverside Park was a hub of activity during the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Thanks to funding from the Province of British Columbia’s 2026 Community Event Support Fund, the City of Kamloops was able to host community-led celebrations and live public watch parties for all to enjoy. 

Riverside Park watch parties by the numbers:

34: number of days live matches were featured on the big screen at the Riverside Park Rotary Bandshell

6: Community Activation days that delivered elevated programming to Riverside Park with beer gardens, food trucks, football-themed activities, giveaways, live music, and family-friendly fun

June 18: date the Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™ tour stopped at Riverside Park, highlighting Kamloops as one of 35 Canadian communities selected to participate in the special route and to receive national attention and enhanced celebrations

46,050: number of people who attended watch parties over the five-week tournament
