Neighbours Come Together to Help Make Kamloops Shine

More than 20 members of the neighbourhood group, the Guerin Creekers, recently came together to clean up a section of Summit Drive through the City’s Adopt-A-Road program, and they had a great time doing it!

The cleanup was followed by a neighbourhood barbecue and social, giving participants a chance to connect with their neighbours while celebrating a job well done.

“We had a great turnout, and everyone was thrilled to help out with the program,” said Don Johnson of the Guerin Creekers. “It was a wonderful day in every way!”

Want to make a difference in your neighbourhood? Consider getting a group, organization, or team involved in the City’s Adopt-A-Road/Adopt-A-Trail program and help keep Kamloops clean and beautiful.

Volunteers have been working to keep Kamloops’ roadsides and nature trails clear of litter since the 1980s. Today, more than 120 groups and individuals are actively caring for 38 trails and 50 km of city roads.

Visit Kamloops.ca/AdoptARoad to learn more, choose an available road or trail section, and submit an application.

Thank you to the Guerin Creekers for helping keep our roadways looking their best and for showing how community spirit can go a long way.
