In a few words: I have worked in the fitness industry and martial arts for over 20 years and have gained considerable experience and knowledge in many aspects of fitness and martial arts.
Fitness and martial arts is my passion, and my goal is to inspire and motivate others to exercise consistently so they can enjoy the health benefits and improve the quality of their lives. In a few words: Through multiple life events, I have been led down the path of exercise physiology, human kinetics, and kinesiology. I graduated with a degree in exercise physiology from the University of British Columbia - Okanagan and have a dream of becoming a physiotherapist. I am very proud and grateful to be able to work with other human beings and better their lives with my work. As an extrovert, I found myself in the perfect field working with people every day.
If I am not in the classroom than I am outside on a mountain, hiking, camping, biking, or snowboarding. If I am not in the classroom or on a mountain, then I am in another part of the world exploring. I believe very deeply in the power of movement and passionately strive towards helping others reach their health and exercise goals.

In a few words: I have been teaching group fitness and training for the past 17 years and have a true passion for helping participants reach their goals and build their confidence. I strongly believe that fitness should be fun and diverse. My goal is to provide interesting, innovative, and individualized fitness programs with a strong emphasis on mobility and durability. I have instructed and coached many types of fitness classes varying from cardio kickboxing, spin, TRX, Insanity, P90X, yoga, bootcamp, and circuit training. Although I enjoy instructing all forms of fitness, I particularly love teaching human movement, yoga, and personal training. My favourite part of training and coaching is the connections and friendships that I make with every one of my clients and participants. There is nothing more rewarding than watching them achieve your goals, overcome an obstacle, and accomplish something they never thought they could.

In a few words: The Tournament Capital Centre has been a second home for me for many years. I’ve been working out personally in the facility for over eight years, one of which I’ve been training individuals professionally. Sports and fitness have been important my whole life which led me to pursue it as a career. When not teaching or training, I am usually spending time with my eldest daughter and my new baby grandson. I also love to garden, hike, paddleboard, boat, cook, and read.

Areas of Interest: I really enjoy working with women of all ages as getting stronger, leaner, and more flexible is so empowering (especially those of us of post-baby and/or menopause age). In a few words: In 1999 I started running and lifting weights and haven’t stopped either 23 years later. 13 of those years were spent competing in the sport of triathlon at progressively higher levels, ending with a short time as a professional. After my triathlon career was over, I shifted my fitness focus towards general athleticism and strength, experimenting with new fitness activities and competitive outlets such as Jiu-Jitsu and Obstacle Course Racing as these new physical qualities developed. My fitness priority now is keeping to a high standard of personal fitness to set an example for both my growing family and my clientele, to maintain a high level of personal readiness as a member of the Rocky Mountain Rangers army reserve unit, and to continually experiment and learn new insights to pass on to my clients.
