Kamloops, BC—The City’s ever-popular annual auction, in partnership with Team Auctions, is set to take place from April 24 to April 27 this year, providing residents and businesses with an exciting opportunity to discover great deals.
This year’s auction features a diverse selection of items, including a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck, bicycles, power tools, office equipment, and much more. A full inventory, complete with photos, will be available on the Team Auctions website, which will also serve as the exclusive platform for bidding. Interested participants will be able to preview select items as they are uploaded over the weekend at Kamloops.ca/Auction.
For those who prefer to inspect items in person, viewings will be held at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre curling rink (1665 Island Parkway) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily throughout the auction (ending at 3:30 pm on April 27). Online bidding opens at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 24, and closes at 9:00 am on Sunday, April 27. Registration is required to participate.
“In recent years, our annual auction has become an effective tool for managing City assets,” said Ray Sison, the City’s Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager. “It’s always rewarding to recoup taxpayer dollars and find homes for useful assets while offering great deals to local residents and businesses, and in some cases, reuniting lost or stolen items with their rightful owners. It’s win-win-win all around.”
The auction will feature several unclaimed items acquired by the City and the RCMP. Residents searching for lost or stolen items are encouraged to attend the in-person viewing and explore the Team Auctions web page. Identified items should promptly be reported to the City’s Planning and Procurement Division at purchasing@kamloops.ca and Team Auctions at lhicks@teamauctions.com. The claimant’s full name, contact number, and a detailed description of the item, along with its associated auction number, must be provided.
Claimed items will immediately be withdrawn from the auction, with Community Services or RCMP representatives reaching out to claimants to guide them through the next steps.
