City’s Annual Auction Returns for 2026 with Unique Finds and a New Partnership

Release Date

Kamloops, BC—The City’s ever-popular annual auction is back for 2026, offering residents and businesses another exciting opportunity to discover great deals on a wide variety of items.

This year’s auction introduces a new partnership with Thompson Rivers University, offering bookstore fixtures, including office furniture, carts, shelving, displays, and mini fridges.

In addition to the university’s collection, the auction will once again feature a broad selection of surplus City items, including vehicles, bicycles, power tools, office equipment, and more. A full inventory, complete with photos, will be available on the Team Auctions website, which will serve as the exclusive platform for bidding. Interested participants can also preview select items online at Kamloops.ca/Auction.

For those who prefer to inspect items in person, viewings will be held at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre curling rink (1665 Island Parkway) from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily throughout the auction (ending at approximately 5:00 pm on May 10). Online bidding opens at 9:00 am on Thursday, May 7, and lots begin closing on Sunday, May 10. Registration is required to participate.

“The annual auction continues to be an effective way to manage City assets while returning value to the community,” said Brian Grant, the City’s Procurement Analyst. “We’re especially excited to partner with Thompson Rivers University this year to offer an expanded selection of items, including a unique art collection that we know will generate strong interest.”

The auction will feature several unclaimed items acquired by the City and the RCMP. Residents searching for lost or stolen items are encouraged to attend the in-person viewing and explore the Team Auctions web page. Identified items should promptly be reported to the City’s Planning and Procurement Division at purchasing@kamloops.ca and Team Auctions at lhicks@teamauctions.com. The claimant’s full name, contact number, and a detailed description of the item, along with its associated auction number, must be provided.

Claimed items will immediately be withdrawn from the auction, and Community Services or RCMP representatives will reach out to claimants to guide them through the next steps.
