We strive to deliver the best quality swim lessons possible. The Swim for Life ® is program is designed to take swimmers from their very first entry into the water all the way up to advanced swimming like stroke development and lifeguard training. Preschool levels have animal mascots and the Swimmer levels have numbered and coloured badges.
Swim lessons are available year-round at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre and Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre and are offered in the summer at the Brock Outdoor Pool.

Swim Lessons
The main registration date for fall swimming lesson registration opened on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Registration will remain open until the end of the lesson season.
Schedules can be found below or picked up at the Tournament Capital Centre or Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre.

Waitlists
If you are on a waitlist for a recreation program and a spot becomes available, you will be notified by email with an option to either confirm or decline the spot. You will have 72 hours to respond. If there is no response after 72 hours, you will lose the opportunity to register and the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
To receive any correspondence about receipts, booking confirmations, class change information, and pending confirmation notifications, the registered person (e.g. child) is required to have an email listed. This can be the same as the primary contact (e.g. parents) email.
Make sure your online recreation account is up to date with your current email address, phone number, and mailing address, and watch for notifications from City of Kamloops Recreation.
Swim Lesson Withdrawal
There is a $10 withdrawal fee for any student being withdrawn from a swim lesson. To withdraw, please call 250-828-3655; online withdrawals are not available.
Swim Lesson Evaluations
Not sure what level to register your child in? Swim evaluations are available during any of our leisure or public swim times.
To request an evaluation, visit the front desk and a lifeguard/swim instructor will help you find the appropriate level. Remember to bring your swimming attire because this will be an in-water assessment. Children under the age of 7 are required to have an adult in the water with them for the evaluation.
