Showcase Your Electric Vehicle at Electric Avenue and Help Drive Electric Vehicle Adoption in Kamloops

Release Date

Do you own an electric vehicle? The City invites local electric vehicle owners to be part of Electric Avenue—a special feature of the 31st annual Hot Nite in the City Show and Shine—taking place on Saturday, August 9, in downtown Kamloops.

Electric Avenue will take over a full city block to showcase electric vehicles, e-bikes, and other sustainable transportation and technologies. It’s a great opportunity to meet other electric vehicle drivers, share your ownership experience, and help inspire others to make the switch to low-carbon transportation.

“The goal is to increase local adoption of electric vehicles by creating an interactive space where locals can share their electric vehicle ownership experience in our climate,” said Jaimi Garbutt, the City’s Sustainability Educator.

“For those curious about electric vehicles, the ability to connect with real-world electric vehicle owners helps to raise awareness on the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned from operating an electric vehicle.”

The first 25 Electric Avenue registrants will receive a $20 Downtown Kamloops gift card, an official Hot Nite T-shirt, and a commemorative dash plaque.

Curious about making the switch to an electric vehicle? Stop by Electric Avenue on Saturday, August 9, and check out a variety of electric vehicles, talk to real owners, and learn about other clean energy technologies, like e-bikes and electric heat pumps.
