Kamloops, BC—For the fourth year in a row, a City of Kamloops employee has been honoured by the Local Government Management Association of BC for their professional excellence and contributions to local government.
At this year’s Local Government Management Association Annual Conference, held June 10–12, Corporate Officer Maria Mazzotta received the Professional Service Award for her outstanding leadership, governance expertise, and unwavering commitment to supporting effective local government. Maria is a dedicated and principled professional whose contributions continue to elevate the standard of local government practice. Her integrity, knowledge, and service-oriented leadership make her a highly deserving recipient of the Professional Service Award.
Recent City employees receiving Local Government Management Association awards include:
- 2025 - Maria Mazzotta: Professional Service Award - Leadership
- 2024 - Stephanie Nichols: Distinguished Member Award
- 2023 - Tammy Robertson: Professional Service Award - Leadership
- 2022 - David Trawin: President’s Award
The Professional Service Award recognizes individuals for outstanding professional achievement, while the Distinguished Member Award honours extraordinary contributions to the association or a local government. The President’s Award is given at the discretion of the Local Government Management Association president for significant contributions to the association and its members.

The Local Government Management Association is a provincial organization that supports excellence in local government through training, networking, and knowledge sharing among over 1,200 members and 189 local governments across British Columbia.
