Residents from each corner of our city showed up in full force for the beach cleanup, with 165 residents getting involved and making a real difference together. We welcomed large groups from the Secwepemc Fisheries Commission, Thompson Rivers University, and the Kamloops Ambassadors program.

In total, 1,014 lb. of material was collected in this event. Broken down, 684 lb. of garbage and 330 lb. of metal were collected from three major shorelines: the beaches at Overlander Park, Riverside Park, and Pioneer Park.

During the thank-you wrap-up event, Jeremy Kneeshaw kept the vibes high with awesome music while the Brock Lion's Club filled bellies with a BBQ.

Representatives from the Kamloops Naturalist Club, Transition Kamloops, and the Invasive Species Society shared tips on keeping our environment healthy. The City’s FireSmart, Bear Smart, and Solid Waste Collection teams were there to offer additional information on City programming and initiatives.

This cleanup was a perfect example of what we can achieve together as a community. Kamloops is leading the way in showing that teamwork makes the dream work for our city!
