Kamloops Municipal IDEA Conference

  • This first-of-its-kind conference will be an engaging space for staff and elected officials from small to mid-sized municipalities and Indigenous bands throughout BC to share successes and struggles while developing best practices in our collective effort to build more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible communities. We also invite the community at large to attend.

    We welcome you to come to Kamloops to learn and share together.

    Community + Council Conversations: North Event

  • City Council will be at The Dunes golf course to meet with residents of Westsyde, Noble Creek, Rayleigh, and Heffley Creek and listen to their opinions and concerns about their neighbourhoods. 

    Review the event details and format.

    Council recognizes that different neighbourhoods have different concerns and encourages residents to attend the meeting closest to their neighbourhood to discuss common issues and solutions with their neighbours.

    Lansdowne Multi-Use Pathway Project Information Session

  • You are invited to an information session on Thursday, November 16, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Delta Hotel at 540 Victoria Street, where residents and the business community can learn about the proposed active transportation project along the Lansdowne corridor, provide feedback, and ask questions of City staff to better understand the implications of the project.

    Smash and stomp your jack-o'-lanterns and have some fun with these pumpkin games and activities:

    Ride and Refresh - Go By Bike Week

  • The final group event of Go By Bike Week invites you to join the organizers of the event to ride your bike from Aviation Way to Red Beard Cafe ( 449 Tranquille Road). RSVP or registration is not required. Your participation in this ride may win you some awesome prizes! Group ride leaves at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to join the group at the cafe at anytime.

    Riders should be prepared to ride with their own bike, helmet, and other personal safety gear.

    Food and beverages are not included. 

    Ride the Night - Go By Bike Week

  • Join Go By Bike event organizers for a fun evening ride from MacArthur Island Park (meeting at Norbrock Stadium) to the Noble Pig restaurant located downtown. RSVP or registration is not required. The group ride leaves at 6:00 pm. Additional excitement is the opportunity to win prizes!

    Please ensure you are prepared for a night ride with a helmet, reflectors, and lights (if available). Food and beverages not included. 

    TRU Open House

  • The event is open to prospective students of all ages, community members, and anyone who would like to explore and experience TRU. Bigger and better than ever, guests will explore labs, get their hands dirty in science and trades, attend mock lectures and meet with students, faculty, and staff. Younger future TRU students can enjoy the Family Fun Zone from 10:00 am–2:00 pm .

    Luminocity

  • Luminocity, a week-long outdoor video art exhibition, returns with dynamic video projections and immersive light experiences with projects that range from narrative storytelling to experimental film and animation, accompanied by nightly tours in Riverside Park.

    Luminocity offers a portal to urban transformation and insightful encounters for all ages.

    Social Community Development Grant Virtual Information Session

  • The City will be hosting one virtual information sessions to explain the grant process and guidelines. Registered charities and non-profit organizations and societies interested in applying for a grant are encouraged to register to learn more.

    Funding is available for projects that address priorities identified in the Kamloops Social Plan and/or align with at least one of the Council’s Strategic Priorities. Applications may be submitted for operational costs, special projects, special capital expenditures, or one-year seed money for a social enterprise initiative. 

    Music for the People–A Cultural Experience

  • Music for the People—A Cultural Experience is a unique concert event bringing the voices, music, and artistry of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together for an unforgettable evening. With passion, talent, and love... Rod "Little Sky" shares his stories, and the stories of those who are lost, through music.

    The concert brings culture, music, artists, and communities together and is suitable for all ages. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

    Interior Savings Moonlight Movie Tour - CANCELLED

  • A screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be shown on a giant inflatable screen under the stars. Everyone is encouraged to arrive early to get a good viewing spot and take part in the family-friendly pre-show activities that will be available. A concession stand will be open to quench your thirst and satisfy your sweet tooth. While there is no charge to attend the event, a donation of $3 per person or $10 for a family is suggested. All funds raised will benefit Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism.

    Pride Week Open House

  • The City is partnering with the RCMP and local non-governmental organizations to host a Pride Week open house. This event will be an opportunity for 2SLGBTQPIA+ community members to learn about City programs and initiatives designed to build inclusivity and create safe spaces. More importantly, it will be an opportunity for community members to be able to share feedback with the City and other invited organizations about the barriers and challenges they continue to face.

    This is a free event. Drop-in welcome. No registration required.
