Kamloops residents are invited to a free, interactive open house on Saturday, May 23, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Civic Operations Centre, 955 Concordia Way.
In recognition of National Public Works and Civic Operations Week, we encourage you to come out and have fun while learning more about the City’s Civic Operations Department.
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community”, demonstrates how the public works professionals at Civic Operations proudly contribute to and enhance the quality of life in our community.
This family-friendly event includes activities for all ages and abilities and aims to showcase the important contributions Civic Operations provides in Kamloops through infrastructure, innovation, mobility, and security. Come out and learn how your city functions!
Free family activities include:
- tours of the City’s sign shop, greenhouse, and mechanical shop
- face painting
- planter painting
- toilet races
- interactive archaeology activity
- traffic signal light activity
- interactive crane activity
- rubber ducky races
- popcorn and treats for children
- complimentary barbecue courtesy of the Kamloops Brock Central Lions Club
Free parking for attendees will be available off Bunker Road, including accessible parking closer to the event site.
