  • Emergency Services Day offers residents a free family-friendly event that interacts with various emergency services teams and organizations operating within our community. This is an event where attendees can interact with emergency equipment, gain valuable insights into emergency preparedness, available services, and volunteer opportunities.

    Bring a reusable bag to bring home coloring books, stickers, toys, swag, and other helpful information.

    Riverside Lawn Bowling Club- Try It Days

You'll receive a lesson from the club's certified coaching staff, then jump right into the action with a game. Whether you're a first-timer or just looking to try something new, it's the perfect way to try lawn bowling. Free event open to ages 12-99!

  • Don't toss it—fix it! Experience the joy of fixing your beloved things and keep usable items in service to reduce waste. Kamloops Repair Café events are supported by a City of Kamloops Climate Action Grant. 

    Items are fixed for free by local volunteers. 

    What You Can Bring:

    Canadian Youth Short Track Championships

  • Hosted by the Kamloops Long Blades, the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships presented by Intact Insurance features skaters aged 11 to 13 and serves as an introduction for developing skaters to represent their province or territory on the national stage. Skaters will compete for individual distance titles in their respective age/gender category.

     

    Pathways Through Play: Connecting to Your Community

  • Pathways Through Play: Connecting to Your Community is an engaging event that aims to raise awareness about the warning signs of gang and criminal influence on youths while highlighting the positive outcome when youths are presented with opportunities to choose an alternative path.

    Doors open at 5:30 pm. Presentation starts promptly at 6:00 pm. Registration recommended.

    Wildfire Risk Reduction: Prescribed Burn Open House

  • The City of Kamloops, in partnership with BC Wildfire Service, invites residents to attend an informal, drop-in, open house on Thursday, January 30, to learn more about the prescribed burn projects planned for the community this spring. This is an opportunity to ask questions directly to project partners and gain insight into the role of prescribed fire in wildfire risk reduction, planning and collaboration, and ecological restoration.

    Unplug and Play: Skills and Tips Public Skate (7:00 pm)

  • In support of Beem Credit Union Unplug and Play week, this ice time will be directed towards new and beginner skaters who are looking for an opportunity to develop new skills and learn tips to improve their movement and level of comfort on the ice. Children under 7 years of age must be supervised by an adult who is wearing skates. No sticks or pucks are permitted. This program is monitored by Skate Patrol.

    This program is at Valleyview Arena and skate rentals will be available.

    Modernizing the Building Bylaw | Information Session

This session will be of particular interest to builders, developers, contractors, trades, suppliers, and any homeowners considering renovations, improvements or landscaping.

  • This program is recreational ice skating for all ages. Children ages seven and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult wearing skates. Children ages 12 and under are required to wear a helmet; helmets are strongly recommended for youth and adults. No sticks or pucks are permitted. This program is monitored by Skate Patrol.
