Kamloops, BC—After a sold-out and inspiring youth conference last fall, Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc and the City of Kamloops are excited to announce the next Youth Leadership Conference, taking place on Tuesday, January 14, 2026. Building on the enthusiastic response and success of the previous event, this full-day conference will feature hands-on learning, cultural connections, and new leadership experiences for young people from across the region.
This upcoming event will bring together youth to explore personal growth and community leadership through interactive sessions, including:
- Drum making - Learn cultural skills and craft your own drum
- Yoga - Experience movement and mindfulness for wellbeing
- Lego Leadership - Build problem-solving and teamwork skills through creative play
The conference is designed to empower youths to strengthen their confidence, build leadership capacity, and deepen their connections with peers while celebrating culture, creativity, and wellness.
“We are thrilled to bring this conference back, building on the momentum from this fall,” said Amy Hilliard, the City’s Community Education and Prevention Coordinator. “This event offers an engaging space where youth can explore new skills, build meaningful relationships, and be inspired to make a positive difference in their communities.”
