Release Date

Kamloops, BC—The City of Kamloops is excited to invite residents to help shine a spotlight on the people who make our community stronger every day. Nominations are now open for the 2026 Exemplary Service Awards, which recognize individuals who have gone above and beyond through outstanding volunteer service.

Each year, City Council honours remarkable community members whose dedication, generosity, and leadership have had a lasting impact on Kamloops. Award recipients will be celebrated at a special recognition ceremony on April 22, 2026.

Nominations are open until 4:30 pm on March 13, 2026, in the following two categories:

  • Young Adult (under 30)
  • Adult (30 and over)

Nominees should be individuals whose volunteer efforts have made a meaningful and lasting difference in Kamloops. They must have lived in the community during the time of their service and demonstrated a sustained commitment to giving back. To ensure the awards remain a true celebration of community volunteers, current City of Kamloops staff, City Council members, organizations or groups, past Exemplary Service Award recipients, Freedom of the City recipients, Centennial Medal recipients, and nominations submitted by family members are not eligible.

Exemplary Service Award recipients are people who show up, year after year, with generosity, care, and a genuine desire to help others. They are the mentors, organizers, advocates, and quiet leaders who strengthen Kamloops through their actions. Whether supporting youth, responding in times of need, building inclusive programs, or bringing people together through events, sports, education, or essential services, these individuals lead by example. Their dedication leaves a lasting impact, inspiring connection, resilience, and pride throughout the community.
