City of Kamloops Issuing Emergency Notification Test Alert on May 8

Kamloops, BC—The City of Kamloops will conduct a city-wide test of its emergency notification system—Voyent Alert!—on Friday, May 8, 2026. Test alerts will be issued by SMS text message, phone call, email, and mobile app notification. Voyent Alert! app users will receive the test alert through the channels set up in their account settings.

Some mobile devices automatically offload unused apps. Residents who have downloaded the Voyent Alert! app are encouraged to confirm it is still installed and enabled on their device. Users should also open the app or log in at Kamloops.ca/Voyent to ensure their location settings are accurate and up to date.

In the event of an emergency, such as flooding, wildfire, or another critical incident, Voyent Alert! delivers timely alerts and updates. Notifications may include important details about the situation and instructions on any actions residents may need to take.
