The City of Kamloops is delighted to announce the 49th Annual Seniors’ Light Tour will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, 6:30–10:00 pm. This beloved holiday tradition invites residents aged 55 and over to enjoy a free bus tour showcasing some of the brightest holiday lights in the city.
This year’s tour will travel through the neighbourhood of Westsyde. Following the tour, participants will be brought together at the Sandman Centre for a festive celebration, featuring live entertainment by the Kamloops Rube Band and the Kamloops Pride Choir. Guests can enjoy hot beverages and holiday treats before being safely returned to their original pickup location by bus.
The tour is free, but registration is required. Interested participants can call 250-828-3500 or visit Kamloops.ca/SeniorsLightTour by end of day on December 4 to register.
In partnership with BC Transit and Transdev, a bus will pick up participants from 20 locations throughout the city. Individuals who require handyDART service should register for the event first and then schedule their handyDART transportation by calling 250-376-7525.
This event would not be possible without the generosity of everyone involved. The City extends a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers and transit drivers who dedicate their time to continue this long-running, successful, and joyous event.
Volunteers Needed
The City is seeking volunteers for this event to help spread Christmas cheer while assisting at pick up and drop off locations and riding along with participants. A volunteer orientation will be held on December 9, 4:30–6:30 pm at Kia Lounge in the Sandman Centre. Visit Kamloops.ca/SeniorsLightTour to apply to volunteer.
Help Light up the Route!
Residents and businesses along the tour route through the Westsyde neighbourhood are encouraged to participate by decorating with holiday lights. Even small displays can help brighten the evening and spread seasonal cheer.
The tour route and bus pickup locations are available at Kamloops.ca/SeniorsLightTour.
