Kamloops, BC—The City of Kamloops is pleased to announce that, following a detailed procurement process in early 2026, including engagement with local pay parking users, a contract has been awarded to Precise ParkLink Inc. to manage pay parking services in Kamloops.
The new agreement will modernize the City’s parking system by replacing existing parking meters with updated models, introducing new technology to manage off-street parking lots, and launching a new mobile payment app, Parkedin, offering more convenient and flexible payment options.
The transition to the new system will take place throughout May and June 2026. Key changes include phasing out physical monthly parking hangtags, which will be replaced by an online vehicle licence plate registration system beginning in June 2026. Current monthly parking pass holders will receive additional information directly.
In addition, PayByPhone app services will be phased out during June and fully replaced by the Parkedin app in July. Residents are encouraged to download the new app and begin using it early to become familiar with the updated system during the transition period. More information on the Parkedin App is available at: Kamloops.ca/ParkingApp.
“This transition is about making parking in Kamloops more convenient, efficient, and user friendly,” said Richelle Cotter, the City’s Community Services Supervisor. “By introducing updated technology and a new mobile app, we’re improving the overall parking experience while also modernizing how we manage parking across the city.”
On March 31, 2026, the Committee of the Whole received a report on parking management and rates, including a proposed phased parking management plan to be implemented over the next five years.
