The highly anticipated accessible water park and inclusive playground at Riverside Park are set to officially open on the May long weekend amid fanfare and festivities.

Parkgoers will enjoy a ribbon cutting, children’s activities, and food trucks at the grand opening event slated for Saturday, May 20, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

As part of the Riverside Park Improvements Project that began in 2021, the new playground—built to incorporate the existing playground within the park—is the first fully accessible and inclusive playground in Kamloops. Several new inclusive structures, including a We-Go-Round, a We-Saw, and a ZipKrooz, will enhance the experience at the playground, allowing children of all abilities to enjoy the City's most cherished park.
