Kamloops Fire Rescue celebrates local creativity with its cover art and colouring page contest results featuring new fire rescue characters Loopy and Blaze. After receiving five impressive cover art submissions, one standout design was selected to be featured on the front of Kamloops Fire Rescue's upcoming colouring book. The chosen design was by Sylas Pretula, a grade 12 student at Kamloops School for the Arts. They have won a $250 gift certificate to the art store of their choice.
Young artists aged 12 and under enthusiastically participated in the colouring page contest. A total of 114 submissions were received, displaying their talent. The selected entry for the colouring page contest was by 10-year-old Kaitlin M., who will receive a fire safety prize pack and a tour of the fire station of their choice.
“We were blown away by the creativity and passion in these entries,” said Jeff Pont, Kamloops Fire Rescue’s Life and Safety Educator. “It’s amazing to see how our community—especially young artists—express their appreciation for fire rescue through art.”
The winning cover, colouring page submissions, and all entries can be viewed in our online flipbook.
Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who brought fire safety and community spirit to life through art.
