Family Day Fun

The 2023 Family Day Festival hosted at the Tournament Capital Centre was a huge success, with more than 3,000 people in attendance.

Event highlights included a lobby welcome by the Bells of Note choir, a performance by magician Clinton W. Gray, dressing up in costumes with Laughing Stock Theatre Society, face painting, bouncy castle fun, and crafting with Boogie the Bridge. PacificSport Interior BC, the Kamloops Community Football Society, and many others engaged children with sport activities, allowing kids to explore their sport curiosities.

Other activities at the festival included a reading zone complete with books and yoga mats hosted by Literacy in Kamloops and PLAYKamloops and a cultural program featuring a variety of band, singing, and dance performances throughout the day.

The Canada Games Aquatic Centre toonie swim had 592 participants, and the free skating activity at Valleyview Arena, sponsored by the North Kamloops Lions Club, welcomed 200 skaters.

As a community, we were able to collect 188 lbs of non-perishable food and $158.10 in monetary donations for the Kamloops Food Bank.

We would like to thank all of our participants who contributed to making this event a huge success. And most of all, kudos to the community of Kamloops for coming to this event in huge numbers to have a good time with your families and giving meaning to Family Day.
