You never know what good will come from a thorough spring cleaning. After a massive project to clear out obsolete assets, the City of Kamloops is holding its first ever online auction. It turns out one of the items up for bid caught the eye of a local mom with a special project in mind.
Vanessa’s son, Devon, has an auto-immune disease and has lengthy appointments every month at the Royal Inland Hospital. “As you might imagine that is a long time to keep a kiddo entertained!” she explained. The pediatric ward has only one cart outfitted with a video game console, which is highly sought after by many young patients. Vanessa has been proactively working to help the hospital acquire another cart to pull together another gaming station. When she reached out, we were delighted to learn we had just what she was looking for.
Thanks to the initiative of this young mom, we were able to connect with the hospital to donate the cart and hope it will be well used by many young patients to help make their hospital stays a little more enjoyable.
