As one of the fastest-growing large urban centres in Canada, Kamloops has welcomed a wealth of new immigrants in recent years, adding to the richness and diversity of our community. More than 10,000 residents of Kamloops now belong to a visible minority and more than 4,000 residents speak a language other than English at home most of the time.

There are a lot of challenges in overcoming language and cultural barriers in order to make City programs, services, and information accessible to all, and we know it is still a work in progress. Thank you to all the staff and residents who are living out our value of inclusion and working hard to make new immigrants feel welcome in our community in so many different ways.
