Celebrate the Stanley Cup with Logan Stankoven

Release Date

Hockey fans, unite! The City and its organizing partners invite residents to join in the celebration of hometown hockey success story and former Kamloops Blazer, Logan Stankoven, who recently won the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Stankoven will be in Kamloops with the Stanley Cup on August 16 and is keen to celebrate with his family, friends, and local fans in the place where his hockey journey began.

“Our family is so excited to share the Stanley Cup with the Kamloops community and celebrate this incredible moment with everyone who has supported Logan along the way,” said Wes Stankoven, Logan’s father.

The City is coordinating this free event in partnership with the Kamloops Blazers, Tourism Kamloops, Downtown Kamloops, the Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce, and the Kamloops Sports Council.

“Council is excited to welcome Logan Stankoven and the Stanley Cup to Kamloops. Logan’s remarkable achievement is a source of pride for our community, and we’re thrilled to celebrate with him, his family, friends, and fans. We look forward to sharing this unforgettable moment together,” said Deputy Mayor Bill Sarai.

The program will feature speakers, a highlight video, a live interview with Stankoven by local sports broadcaster Jon Keen, and a huge group photo with the Stanley Cup.

100 lucky attendees will have an opportunity to win a photo with Stankoven and the Cup. Tickets will be handed out at the event, and the lucky ticket holders will be chosen for an immediate photo opportunity. Up to six people can be in one photo.
