The City of Kamloops extends a heartfelt thank you to all Neighbourhood Associations for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Their ongoing efforts help foster strong, connected communities.
On March 6, the City hosted a special appreciation dinner to celebrate the contributions of the 17 Neighbourhood Associations that operate in our community. The event provided an opportunity for association members to connect, share their achievements, and look ahead to future initiatives and also included presentations on key City projects and initiatives, including:
- Build Kamloops – Updates on community infrastructure and recreational facility plans.
- FireSmart – Programs and Projects – Strategies for wildfire prevention, community safety, and prescribed burns.
- Bear Smart and Bear Resistant Carts – Enhancing waste management to protect wildlife and reduce human-bear conflicts.
- Sustainable Kamloops: Community Climate Action Programs – Efforts to promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
- 2025 Upcoming Engagement Opportunities – Ways for residents to get involved and have their voices heard in shaping the city’s future.
The City recognizes and values the commitment of Neighbourhood Associations in organizing events, advocating for local improvements, and fostering a sense of community. Their efforts contribute to the well-being of residents and play an important role in community education and engagement. We are grateful for their passion and hard work—Neighbourhood Associations help us to build a stronger, more connected city.
