Kamloops Dragonboat Festival 2024

  • The Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival will be taking place alongside Kamloops Daybreak Rotary Ribfest again this year. Teams from across the province are coming to Kamloops to compete on the South Thompson River off the shores of Riverside Park beach. Dragon boating is a modern sport with ancient traditions that is both competitive and fun! Boat crews consist of 20 paddlers, a steersperson and a drummer.

    There is no admission and all are welcome to come down and learn more about dragonboat and support the teams as they paddle the 500 metre race course on our river.

  • Kamloops Daybreak Rotary Ribfest is a three-day family festival downtown Kamloops featuring professional Ribbers and local food trucks, a free family fun zone, live-entertainment, and beverage garden. All activities and music is free for families to enjoy throughout all three days. Daybreak Rotary organizes this event with built partnerships through the City of Kamloops and other key organizations. Kamloops Ribfest see's over 80,000 people attend each year creating an direct economic impact of $3.1 million dollars back into the local economy.

    The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts is a unique event to commemorate the proposed Kamloops Centre for the Arts.

    This will be an open-air gathering, rain or shine, and entry will be by donation.

    Build Kamloops Open House

  • Residents are encouraged to attend this public open house to learn more about how the Build Kamloops program will help us catch up and keep up with the growth of our community. Ask questions and learn about how the program was developed, why these facilities were prioritized, and the proposed funding strategy. 

    This event is an open house format with no set agenda. Residents may come and go as they please during the event.
