Construction will begin next week on a new multi-use pathway connecting Fulton Field Park to Airport Road along the west side of Tranquille Road.

The 600 m pathway will improve active transportation connectivity in the area, providing a safer and more connected route for pedestrians and cyclists. 

The pathway will be enhanced with lighting, carefully selected trees, and hydrangeas that match the previously completed Tranquille Gateway Improvements Project, creating a cohesive look 
along the corridor.

The pathway design also considers future airport development to help ensure the pathway connects smoothly with planned improvements in the area.

Work will begin on Tuesday, September 8, with mobilization, surveying, and utility locates. Site preparation and earthworks will take place throughout September, including clearing, grubbing, stripping, and embankment work.

Utility and infrastructure work, including street lighting and irrigation work, will continue into October. Base construction of the path will follow later in the month, with finishing work, including topsoil, grading, planting, turf and hydroseeding completed afterward. Asphalt paving is scheduled for the end of October, with project completion expected in early November. Some final works may be required in spring 2027 with minimal impacts.

Residents and road users can expect some noise, dust, and traffic delays while construction is underway. Traffic management measures will be in place as needed to help maintain access and assist motorists and pedestrians as they navigate through the area.
