The City of Kamloops oversees the Kamloops Sewage Treatment Centre (KSTC), which treats wastewater in accordance with Operational Certificate (OC) 111009, issued on October 3, 2022. KSTC uses a Biological Nutrient Removal process to effectively reduce nitrogen, phosphorus, organics, and solids before discharging treated effluent into the Thompson River.
