When: November 1, 2025, 10:00 am–2:00 pm
Where: McArthur Island Park, Disc Golf Course parking lot (located on the southwest part of the McArthur Island Parkway loop)

What's accepted: Plastic bags, plastic overwrap, crinkly plastic, stand-up and zipper lock pouches, flexible packaging with plastic seal, woven and net plastic bags, and protective and squishy cushion packaging. Don't forget those Halloween candy wrappers!
Not accepted: Garbage bags, plastics squeeze tubes, plastic-lined paper, paper-lined plastic, 6-pack rings, biodegradable/compostable/oxo-degradable plastic, vinyl.
Please note: Only flexible plastics will be accepted at this event. Recycle your depot drop-off items (glass, Styrofoam, and flexible plastics) anytime at a Recycle BC depot–visit our depot location web page for more information.

The City will provide pumpkins to those who don’t have any to bring, but supplies may be limited, so don’t forget to bring your pumpkins from home!
The City composts all pumpkins from this event. You can also compost your pumpkins at City yard waste sites or in your curbside organics cart.
