The City of Kamloops has been recognized with two prestigious national awards from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its 2024 Annual Report, highlighting the City’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and high-quality financial reporting.

The City received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting and the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting. This significant accomplishment reflects the dedication of City staff and leadership to clear, accessible, and comprehensive financial communication.

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting has been awarded for the 2024 City of Kamloops Annual Report. This award program encourages municipalities across Canada to produce high-quality financial reports that go beyond minimum requirements and demonstrate a “spirit of full disclosure.” Reports are evaluated by an impartial Canadian Review Committee and must clearly communicate a municipality’s financial story in a way that motivates residents and stakeholders to engage with the information. Receiving this award represents a notable achievement for the City and its management team.

The City was also recognized with the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for its 2024 Annual Report Highlights document. This award honours governments that produce accessible, reader-friendly summaries of complex financial information, making it easier for residents to understand how public funds are managed and invested.

The 2024 Annual Report can be viewed online at Kamloops.ca/AnnualReport. The 2025 Annual Report will be available in June 2026.
