The City of Kamloops has contracted BA Dawson Blacktop Ltd. to install a new isolation valve at the Summit Drive Booster Station (1830 Summit Drive) to support the City’s ability to safely isolate this section of the water system for future maintenance and repairs, and to help provide reliable water service for the community.
The project will begin the week of October 19, 2026, with expected completion at the end of November.
TRAFFIC/PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
Traffic on Summit Drive between Gleneagles Drive and Coppertree Court will be reduced to single lane alternating during construction. Two lanes will be restored after daily work is completed.
Traffic control measures and signage will be in place to safely manage the work area, as well as worker and resident safety. Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra time and take alternate routes where available.
Pedestrians will have sidewalk access in the area, but will be limited to the opposite side of the street only. When travelling through the area on foot or bicycle, please obey all signage and traffic control personnel and do not enter into the prohibited work area.
