The City of Kamloops has contracted PME Construction to undertake Phase 3 of the Tranquille Sanitary Main and Road Enhancement Project between Crestline Street and Southill Street.
Work began in June 2025, and continues into 2026 via the following stages:
Stage 1: Crestline Street to Windbreak Street
Stage 2: Crestline Street to Southill Street
Stage 3: Schreiner Street to Southill Street
Stage 4: Windbreak Street to Southill Street
During the work, Tranquille Road will be open to local traffic only for driveway access, however, no thru traffic will be permitted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Dangerous Goods and Truck Route detour is: Ord Road to 8th Street. Drivers must travel along Ord Road instead of Tranquille Road during construction (early June until the end of 2025). If trucks travel down Tranquille Road past Airport Road, there will be no exit for them once they approach the construction zone at Tranquille Road and Crestline Street, and turning around with a large truck will be difficult.
