The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts is a unique event to commemorate the proposed Kamloops Centre for the Arts (KCA). This open-air gathering at the site of the future KCA will showcase local arts and culture organizations and highlight the wide range of future opportunities at this flagship facility.

The Build Kamloops Celebration of the Arts is more than just a celebration; it is a catalyst for change, growth, and enrichment that will contribute to a legacy in our community. Event schedule:

5:00–6:00 pm: Entertainment & Vendors 
6:00–7:00 pm: Formal Presentations & Entertainment on the GK Sound Mainstage, including a special appearance by Kamloops Mayors
7:00–8:00 pm: Entertainment & Vendors

Entertainment:

  • Kamloops Symphony Orchestra - quartet performance
  • Let's Move Studio - 90's art battle, hip hop performance, roving entertainers
  • Kamloops Film Society Experience Zone - walk the red carpet, spin the wheel for prizes, get popcorn for a twoonie, name your own Hollywood Star, or get some free mystery-wrapped DVDs. And don't miss the poster wall that will make for a photo op like no other!
  • Embrace your inner musician and make some noise! The Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and the Kamloops Music Collective have teamed up to present an all-ages interactive Musical Play Zone. Experience the joy as you explore the world of music first-hand. Plus, on the KSO Music School stage, enjoy a showcase of local students performing some of the best of the violin, piano and more, featuring works by an award-winning Kamloops composer, and maybe even some Taylor Swift hits!
  • Western Canada Theatre has invited some favourite local performers to play zany tour guides, box office staff, and backstage performers to give attendees a whimsical view of life at the Kamloops Centre for the Arts.
