Downtown Parking Rates & Passes

Effective Monday, June 1 - Fees and Charges are Increasing

The following increases were adopted by Council on May 26, 2026, effective June 1, 2026. For more information, see the March 31, 2026, Committee of the Whole report

The changes also include extending paid on-street parking hours to start at 8:00 am instead of 9:00 am.

On-Street Parking (effective June 1, 2026)

Pay parking is in effect Monday–Saturday, 8:00 am–6:00 pm. Payment can be made using the Parkedin app, or at any pay station using credit card or coins (except pennies). 

  • A three‑hour maximum time limit applies. Parking for longer than three hours without moving your vehicle is not permitted.
  • Minimum purchase: 12 minutes ($0.25).
  • The first and second hours are $1.50 per hour.
  • The third hour is $3.00.
  • Pay stations accept credit cards and all coins except pennies.
  • The Parkedin app accepts Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit, Amex, JCB, and more.
  • On-street parking is free on Sundays and statutory holidays.
  • 24-hour faulty pay station reporting number: 250-828-3409.

Surface Parking Lots (effective June 1, 2026)

The City operates several parking lots in the downtown core. Pay parking is in effect Monday–Saturday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm. Payment can be made using the Parkedin app, or at any pay station using a credit card or coins (except pennies). Monthly parking passes are available through Precise ParkLink.

  • Three‑hour maximum time limit in City-owned lots in the downtown core
  • 400 Lorne Street parking lot: $65 per month or $6 per day
  • 500 Lorne Street parking lot: $50 per month or $6 per day
  • Heritage House parking lot: $65 per month or $6 per day
  • Sandman Center parking lot: $65 per month or $6 per day
  • West End Riverside Park parking lot: $65 per month

Parkades

The City operates two downtown parkades: Seymour Parkade (240 Seymour Street) and Lansdowne Parkade (335 Lansdowne Street). Pay parking is in effect Monday–Friday, 6:00 am–6:00 pm. Monthly parking passes are available through Precise ParkLink.

  • $1 per hour, to a maximum of $5 per day.
  • Parkade parking is free on weekends, statutory holidays, and after 6:00 pm on weekdays.
  • Standard rates apply during events (no event rate).
