How to Prepare to Apply:

Required Documentation for All Applications:

  • Title Search - dated within the last three months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca )
  • Charges on Title - non-financial charges, legal notations, covenants, statutory rights-of-way, etc.
  • Owner's Acknowledgement
  • Agency Agreement - if you’re applying on behalf of the property owner
  • Site Plan - indicating location of wall on property and distances from buildings/property lines
  • Sealed Design Drawings - from a BC registered professional engineer
  • BC Building Code Letters of Assurance - Schedule B when using registered professionals

Note: A registered professional shall undertake the design and conduct field reviews of the construction and drainage of a retaining structure:

  • (a) greater than 1.2 m in height
  • (b) where a sequence of walls, regardless of height, is located closer than two horizontal to one vertical
  • (c) where site drainage is impacted as determined by the City
  • (d) where other geotechnical concerns exist as determined by the City
  • (e) where the retaining wall is supporting another building or structure

Note: Additional documentation may be required, depending on the scope of work to be done.

Before You Start

You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one here.

Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until it has been submitted and paid for. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.

Application fees must be paid by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% credit card convenience fee will apply.
