Don’t Risk Delays This Tax Season—Go Digital with a MyCity Account

Kamloops, BC—With the 2025 Financial Plan and Tax Rate bylaws now adopted, City Administration is focusing on the upcoming property tax season. Residents are encouraged to sign up for a MyCity account and enroll in eBilling if they haven’t already done so. With the potential for another postal worker strike in May, MyCity will be the most reliable source for personal information on property taxes and utility bills.

The payment deadline for property taxes this year is Wednesday, July 2. Tax notices will be issued as early as possible this May to give residents ample time to prepare. The City is committed to doing what it can to help residents access the tools and information they need to pay their property taxes on time. However, residents are reminded that late payment deadlines and penalties for property taxes are provincially legislated and cannot be waived or adjusted by the City, nor can the City control mail services.

"With eBilling and a MyCity account, residents have secure, on-demand access to their property tax and utility billing information, anytime, wherever they connect to the internet," said Norman Thompson, the City’s Taxation Manager. "eBilling eliminates the risk of important documents getting lost in the mail or at home and supports our efforts to reduce paper waste and save taxpayer dollars on postage."

In addition to the convenience of digital access, MyCity users benefit from being able to view and compare their billing history over time without having to maintain a paper file log.

The City’s message to residents who already have eBilling in place is to help a friend or family member do the same, especially if they would struggle to navigate tax and bill payment if a paper notice could not be delivered in the mail.

Getting Started is Easy 
Kamloops property owners can create a MyCity account by visiting Kamloops.ca/eBill. Property owners will need details from a previous tax notice or utility bill to set up property tax or utility billing information. City staff are ready to help residents who don’t have a copy of those documents on hand. Call 250-828-3437 or stop by City Hall for assistance.
