Kamloops, BC—The City of Kamloops is calling on residents to nominate outstanding community members for the 2025 Exemplary Service Awards. Each year, City Council honours individuals who have dedicated their time and service to improving the community. The award recipients will be recognized at a ceremony on April 16, 2025.
Nominations are open until 4:30 pm on March 14, 2025, and will be accepted in two categories:
- Young Adult (under 30)
- Adult (30 and over)
To be eligible, nominees must have made significant volunteer contributions to the community over time. They also must have been Kamloops residents during their service. Current City staff, Council members, groups, and previous award recipients—including those who received the Freedom of the City, a Centennial Medal, or a past Exemplary Service Award—are not eligible. Nominations from family members will not be accepted.
Past Exemplary Service Award winners have shown dedication, compassion, and a deep commitment to improving the community. They have contributed to philanthropy, youth mentorship, athletics, emergency services, food security, and event coordination. Many have dedicated their time to supporting vulnerable populations, fostering education, and strengthening local programs through hands-on involvement and leadership. They have shown unwavering generosity, often working behind the scenes to uplift others through coaching, fundraising, counselling, or organizing vital community resources. Their selflessness and perseverance serve as an inspiration, making Kamloops a stronger, more connected community.
