What Not to Recycle
The recycling program is for paper, plastic, metal, and glass products only. Overall the program is going well, but some materials have been recycled that should not be included.
Do not recycle the following:
NO FOOD SCRAPS or ORGANIC WASTE
Food scraps may contaminate and prevent recycling of an entire load.
NO SCRAP METAL
No fuel or propane tanks or automotive parts. Tanks could explode during handling. Take them to a scrap metal dealer.
Only metal food cans, aluminum foil and food trays are permitted in the recycling program.
NO INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS, AGRICULTURAL PLASTICS OR RUBBER
All other soft plastic bags and plastic film is now accepted.
NO STYROFOAM
Even if it has the recycling symbol it still isn't permitted.
NO CLOTHING
Used clothing can be donated to thrift stores or used as rags.
Thank you Kamloops, for helping to make the recycling program a success.
