New Residential Recycling Program

Recycling and Garbage

The City of Kamloops has joined the RecycleBC (formerly Multi-Materials BC) Printed Paper and Packaging (PPP) recycling program. Starting April 3, 2017, households are asked to follow a new set of standards governing what materials are accepted in the curbside recycling program.

The most notable change is that glass and soft plastic film (plastic shopping bags, plastic wrap, etc.) cannot be placed in curbside carts and should be taken to a designated depot. These products require special handling to ensure they do not contaminate other recyclable materials.
