Liquor Licensing

The production and sale of alcohol in British Columbia is regulated by the Provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch.  Applications for new food primary licences, liquor primary licences, and manufacturing licences, changes to existing liquor licences, and temporary licences must be made directly to the LCRB.

Many types of liquor licence applications also require input from local government. Local government review may include confirmation that zoning, BC Building Code and technical requirements are met, and gathering community and stakeholder input and is governed by Kamloops Council Policy No. GGL-12 Liquor Licence Review Process.
