Dangerous Goods and Truck Route Information

Every person operating a truck exceeding the GVW of 10,900 kg within the City of Kamloops on a road not classified as a truck route shall travel by the closest and most direct route to the destination of the trip upon entering or leaving the truck route.

NOTE: The City of Kamloops will be commencing a major sanitary sewer upgrade project on Lansdowne Street from 1st Avenue to 7th Avenue in late April 2024.The project is anticipated to be complete late November 2024.

To accommodate the work, it is necessary to detour all westbound heavy trucks away from the entire construction work zone for the duration of the project (April 28 - November 2024), as alternative westbound routes through downtown will not be able to accommodate large vehicles.

The Seymour Street truck route will still be open for use. Downtown deliveries will be accommodated through the work zone where possible, and/or be required to use local detours.
