Home Owner Grant (HOG)

The purpose of the Home Owner Grant Program is to reduce the burden of residential property taxes on registered owners who occupy eligible residences.

The Home Owner Grant is a provincial subsidy program. For more information visit:

Property owners must meet the eligibility requirements and complete an application form each year.

For your convenience, you can apply online. Or, use the application form included with your tax notice and submit your application to City Hall.

Please Note: Home Owner Grant applications must be filed annually. Any applications that are incomplete, unclaimed, or late will result in penalty charges. Grants that are not claimed are considered equivalent to unpaid taxes and subject to penalty charges.
