COVID-19 Updates

Public Skating will resume on July 21st. 

COVID-19 Operational Adjustments

  • Advance registration is required. No drop-ins. Register at Kamloops.ca/PerfectMind
  • All skate times, all ages will be $4.25
  • 20 people max per skate time
  • Registration for programs will close at 3pm day of (Saturday Family Stick, Puck & Ring will close at 10am)
  • After registration has closed programs will be nonrefundable
  • Doors to the arena will open 5 minutes prior to each skate time and be locked during the skate time
  • Stay 6ft away from other patrons and no contact games
  • Public Skate - there will be no skating aids put out in order to decrease contact points. Please bring own

Skating Program Descriptions

Public Skate

Recreational ice skating for all ages. Children ages seven and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult wearing skates. Children ages 12 and under are required to wear a helmet; helmets are strongly recommended for youth and adults. No sticks or pucks are permitted. 

Please note that skating may be interrupted should the ice require re-surfacing. This is necessary for your safety and enjoyment of use. 

Brock and Valleyview arena are accessible for patrons who require the of use wheelchairs on the ice during public skating sessions. Helmets are mandatory for both the person using the wheelchair and any attendants. Attendants must also wear skates on the ice surface.

Family Stick, Puck, and Ring

For children ages 12 and under to play with their adult guardians. All participants are required to wear a helmet. Children must be accompanied on the ice by an adult. Please bring your own stick and puck. No goalies, slap shots, or scrimmages are permitted. The program is monitored by Skate Patrol. Maximum of 20 participants.

Teen Stick, Puck, and Ring (13+ years)

For players 13 years and older. All participants are required to wear a helmet and gloves. Bring your own stick and puck. No goalies, slap shots, or scrimmages are permitted. The program is monitored by Skate Patrol. Maximum of 20 participants.

Adult Stick, Puck & Ring (18+ years)

For players 18 years and older. All participants are required to wear a helmet and gloves. Bring your own stick and puck. No goalies, slap shots, or scrimmages are permitted. The program is monitored by Skate Patrol. Maximum of 20 participants.

Beginner Adult Hockey (18+ years)

Beginner Adult (18+) Drop-in Hockey. This program is geared towards players with a novice or beginner skill level. Self-organized, non-contact program; full gear and helmets are mandatory. The program is not monitored by Skate Patrol. Players are expected to officiate themselves. Maximum of 20 participants. A waiver must be signed prior to entering the program.

Intermediate Adult Drop-in Hockey (18+ years)

This program is geared towards those with an intermediate and above skill level.  Self-organized, non-contact program; full gear and helmets are mandatory. The program is not monitored by Skate Patrol. Players are expected to officiate themselves. Maximum of 20 participants. A waiver must be signed prior to entering the program. 

*Please note that while this program is geared to a more experienced player, this remains a recreational hockey program and all players on the ice, regardless of level, must feel safe and included in the game.

Senior (55+) Drop-in Hockey

This program is for seniors. This is a self-organized, non-contact program; full gear and helmets are mandatory. The program is not monitored by Skate Patrol. Players are expected to officiate themselves. Maximum of 20 participants. A waiver must be signed prior to entering the program.

Preschool Only*

This is a FREE, value-added program.

This program is recreational ice skating for children ages six and under. The parent/caregiver is required to accompany and supervise the child on the ice and wear skate. Helmets are mandatory for children and strongly recommended for the parent/caregiver. Skate at your own risk. The program is not monitored by Skate Patrol.

Family Only*

This is a FREE, value-added program.

This program is recreational ice skating for families only (children 12 and under). Helmets are required for children and strongly recommended for adults. No sticks or pucks. The parent/guardian must wear skates and accompany child(ren) on the ice. The program is not monitored by Skate Patrol.

Adult Only (19+)*

This is a FREE, value-added program.

This program is recreational ice skating for adults only. Skate at your own risk. This program is not monitored by Skate Patrol. No sticks and pucks; helmets are strongly recommended.

Seniors Only*

This is a FREE, value-added program.
